About
Seattle Blog tracks the Seattle metro the way Calculated Risk tracks the national economy: a small set of well-regarded time series, charted over time, with short descriptive text and a clearly cited source under every chart.
Where CR looks at national macro, this looks local — Seattle city, King County, and the Seattle–Tacoma–Bellevue metro (MSA): jobs, home prices, rents, permits, transit ridership, school enrollment, and more.
A note on sources: FRED, Census/ACS, BLS, BEA, and WA OFM are gold-standard. Operational counts (transit ridership, point-in-time homeless counts, Port TEUs) have known discontinuities, which posts flag rather than paper over.

Corrections, series worth charting, data problems, or anything else: hello@metrotrendlines.com. Every message is read; not every message gets a reply.
If the problem is with a specific post, the link at the foot of that post opens a report that already knows which chart you mean — that’s the fastest way to get a number checked against its source.
